Brief info

John Sono is a Dutch house DJ, born in 1981, nearby Amsterdam.
From his childhood, music has been a common thread in his life.
At home it was never quiet, the radio was always on or LPs were playing, later CDs.

When John started playing the piano from the age of 7, musicality really seemed to flow through his veins. After 7 years of lessons, he decided to start playing the drums as well. At the age of 18, John started working in a pub as a part-time job next to his studies. It soon became clear that playing music suited him well. For a few years, John was at the controls of various pubs and clubs. That's where the DJ virus and the love for house music really started. As a DJ, John Sono has developed into melodic and energetic progressive house. Exquisite combinations of rhythms and melodies can always be heard in the sets of Amsterdam's Most Wanted DJ John Sono.

AMW stands for Amsterdam’s Most Wanted, our nickname is the big red machine. We are an online radio station, an international music platform that is community driven.


Over the years, we have grown into an exponent that is listened to in more than 150 countries. Supporting talent and building strong ties with local communities throughout the Netherlands and abroad are core activities.

AMW broadcasts live DJ sets on a daily basis for its listeners. We provide an international platform for (upcoming) artists in a premium studio which is located in a monument.
